Silverstone FP2: Hamilton kill the engine but still first

Lewis Hamilton fastest, two-tenths clear of Nico Rosberg, but out of session after his car breaks down on the track; World Championship leader Rosberg had topped the timesheets in P1 ahead of Hamilton; Rosberg avoids penalty after overtaking during red-flag period in P1; Susie Wolff becomes first female driver to take part in practice for 22 years but her Williams car breaks down after just four laps due to an engine fault.

So a rather worrying failure for Toro Rosso after Kvyat’s rear suspension failure in Austria. Toro Rosso really struggling with reliability this season and this is another headache.

That’s an unusual sight, something has basically torn off Bottas’ Williams – the engine cover looks to have completely sheered off coming down Hanger Straight.
