Whiting: Red Bull only have themselves to blame

F1 Race Director Charlie Whiting has confirmed Red Bull Racing was warned during the Australian Grand Prix that its fuel flow rate on Daniel Ricciardo’s RB10 was in violation of the regulations.

Ricciardo finished second in front of his home fans on Sunday at Albert Park, but was stripped of the place post-race with the stewards ruling his car consistently surpassed the 100kg/h fuel flow limit.

Red Bull Racing intends to appeal the exclusion, and while Team Principal Christian Horner has insisted they were within the rules and that the sensor was faulty, Whiting wasn’t sympathetic.
