Former World Champion Kimi Räikkönen has implied that he will finish his Formula 1 career when his current Ferrari contract expires at the end of 2015.
Räikkönen entered the sport in 2001 and competed with Sauber, McLaren and Ferrari before embarking on a two year hiatus. He returned with Lotus in 2012 before returning to the Italian team ahead of the 2014 campaign.
The Finn has endured a trying season and is currently in 12th in the championship, having yet to finish a race higher than seventh position.
“Until my contract is finished, and then I will probably stop,” Räikkönen said when asked about his long-term plans. “That’s what I think is going to happen.”
