Kevin Magnussen finished the Malaysian Grand Prix weekend in the points, but unfortunately for the McLaren rookie he also gained two penalty points on his F1 Superlicence after causing a collision with Kimi Raikkonen at the start of the race.
The Danish driver lost out with a broken wing and a five-second stop-go penalty but also gains 2 points on his licence, any driver who earns 12 points over the course of the season will receive a one-race ban.
Speaking after the accident Magnussen said sorry to the team for ruining the race “I’m sorry for the team that I messed it up in the first corner,” Magnussen said. “I think we could have had some good points today.”
