Massa concerned by new regulations

Felipe Massa has spoken of his concern about next year’s regulation overhaul, the outgoing Ferrari driver fearful that the sport could be heavily damaged if the field is forced to focus on saving fuel and tyres as opposed to extracting performance.

A host of technical changes – spearheaded by turbocharged V6 engines – will be introduced from the 2014 campaign, with a fuel usage limit being put in place to ensure that drivers do not use more than 100kg of fuel throughout a Grand Prix.

With this, and other potential challenges in mind, Massa is anxious about the emphasis moving closer to efficiency and further away from pushing the limits.
