30 laps into the Italian Grand Prix, fan favorite Fernando Alonso has exited the race with mechanical issues. The loyal Tifosi looked on dejected as the Ferrari driver parked the car and walked away.
He ran towards the backend of the top ten for most of the day before the retirement, saying over the radio “I’m losing power, I’m losing power.” The last time he retired from a GP due to something mechanical was in the 2010 edition of the Malaysian Grand Prix.
His teammate Kimi Raikkonen is currently holding on to the final position inside the top ten.
