Fernando Alonso has seconded Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo’s criticism of Formula 1’s on track spectacle and reckons lessons can be learned from the recent regulation changes in MotoGP.
Di Montezemolo has written a letter to Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone to express his concerns about the current state of Formula 1, and Alonso, speaking in Thursday afternoon’s pre-Austrian Grand Prix press conference at the Red Bull Ring, admitted that “the show we have put on this year is not good enough.”
“When one team is dominating so much as Mercedes, the spectators probably prefer more action,” he said.
“We will try to put on a better show in the next races. If teams or fans have ideas, they will be welcome.”
