Monaco 2014 – the rating and the fight between team mates

Why? Because you need to see the value of pilots also where the single seater is not competitive. And because the first you have to defeat in Formula 1 is your teammate!

Rating or tires change – we will award tires according to the pilots’ performance in every Grand Prix. The best performance will be awarded with supersoft tires and the worst with rain tires, meaning that a rating of 6 is the maximum and 1 is the minimum. We will not take into account the performance of the car or other things that are not under the direct control of the pilots.

(+) Pilot of the race: Jules Bianchi.

(-) Taxi driver: not awarded

Race show: 7 out of 10.

Red Bull: Vettel rating 5 (2, 20) – Ricciardo rating 6 (3, 3)

Just for overtaking his teammate at the starting line, Vettel cannot be awarded with the highest ranking, nor with the F1 Manager point, which goes to Daniel Ricciardo, who again had an impressive race and better qualifications.

Monaco 0 – 1

General 1 – 5

Mercedes: Rosberg rating 6 (1, 1) – Hamilton rating 5 (1, 1)

Lewis only gets 5, because, although he is the one who kept biting at Nico, the first time he was under psychological pressure he failed. He is too hot-blooded when making statements and in the race. If Nico defeats him in Montreal, Hamilton will probably be confused many races to come and will not be able to find his way again.

Monaco 1 – 0

General 2 – 4

Ferrari: Alonso rating 6 (5, 4) – Raikkonen rating 5 (6, 11)

We downgraded Kimi for the poorer qualifications compared to Alonso. Also he does not receive out point, because if he might not have been at fault in the holding that sent him to the pits a second time, he surely faulted when he unsuccessfully tried to pass Magnussen. Alonso does what he does, and currently holds the third position in the pilots’ ranking.

Monaco 1 – 0

General 5 – 1

McLaren: Button rating 5 (12, 6)  – Magnussen rating 6 (8, 10 )

In McLaren’s case, too, the one who finished the race behind his teammate receives the F1 Manager point, namely Kevin Magnussen. The Dane has nothing to do with the fact that his engine gave out and lost 5 positions at the end of the race.

Monaco 0 – 1

General 4 – 2

Lotus: Grosjean rating 6 (14, 8) – Maldonado rating 6 (15, 13)

We thought that the Lotus team would be the surprise of the kingdom, but they were utterly disappointing in Monaco. Their pace was very slow, and only the favorable circumstances allowed Grosjean to obtain 4 points in the race.

Monaco 1 – 0

General 6 – 0

Force India: Hulkenberg rating 6 (11, 5) – Perez rating 5 (10,11)

Nico gets the highest ranking for the very good position he managed to get in the race, and we do not downgrade him for having been defeated by his teammate during qualifications, because the distance was minimum. We believe Sergio Perez had no major fault in holding Button, an incident that took him out of the race.

Monaco 1 – 0

General 4 – 2

Sauber: Sutil rating 4 (18, 18) – Gutierrez rating 5 (17, 15 )

Again, Guttierrez finished the race, while Sutil did not. And this time, the fault is his alone. However, Adrian still receives a 4 for the marvelous passes made until he had to drop out.

Monaco 0 – 1

General 2 – 4

Williams: Massa rating 6 (16, 7) – Bottas rating 6 (13, 16)

Massa finally managed to get a decent result starting from an unfavorable position, the 16th. The point, however, goes to his teammate who was in front of him in the race, until a technical failure made him quit.

Monaco 0 – 1

General 4 – 2

Toro Rosso: Kvyat rating 5 (9, 19) – Vergne rating 6 (7, 17)

A race that could have been remarkable for Toro Rosso turned into a race with two drop-outs and probably many regrets.

Monaco 0 – 1

General 3 – 3

Marussia: Bianchi rating 6 (2, 8) – Chilton rating 5 (19, 14)

Binachi succeeded to get his first points in Formula 1 for himself and the Marussia team. Congratulations and keep up the good work.

Monaco 1 – 0

General 4 – 2

Caterham: Kobayashi rating 5 (18, 17) – Ericcson rating 5 (20, 20)

Ericcson almost scored his first point for himself and Caterham. It’s hard to believe that he will get another such great opportunity this year.

Monaco 0 – 1

General 4 – 1
